I love the idea of taking monthly baby pictures. Babies change so much each month that it’s super fun to document all the changes and growth!
Here are the pictures that I took of Andrew each month. I’m not a professional photographer, so they’re not all perfect, but hopefully you’ll have fun looking at them, and be inspired with some ideas of your own!
Doughnuts
We had so much fun taking pictures of Andrew every month! For this one, I just added another doughnut to the box for each month.
It seemed appropriate, since we did a Krispy Kreme doughnut-themed gender reveal for him before he was even born. 😉
Baby + Mama
I took pregnancy pictures of my growing bump in front of this brick wall (aka the side of our house) every 2 weeks while I was pregnant with Andrew. Then I just kept taking them after he was born.
I don’t love taking pictures of myself, but I am so glad that I got in front of the camera to document these snuggles every month during his first year.
Include stickers
For these, I just took pictures of Andrew lying on the same blanket each month, and then used an app (Baby Story) to add the labels.
The milestone blanket
You can get these milestone blankets in basically any theme that you want. I think they’re really fun! We chose a baseball theme, and added one of my husband’s old gloves and baseballs.
I also took pictures each month of Andrew playing with the glove and baseball, and we even had a baseball-themed first birthday party for him. (And these photos made a great decorative banner for the party!)
I had fun creating little collages each month out of these pictures, which I posted to my Instagram page.
Hopefully you got were able to get some of your own fun monthly baby picture ideas. Enjoy these special memories with your baby!

Our master bedroom nursery
For the first few months of his life, our newborn will be sleeping in our bedroom in a basinet by our bed. It just makes sense. Newborn babies wake up so many times a night that it’s just convenient to have them close by. But what I’ve finally learned, after three other babies, is that…
